Rotorscoping
In todays lesson I partnered up with some fellow students in a group (Kevin and Shakir). Together we filmed footage of each of us doing a simple action for example I filmed footage of Kevin opening a door. We then utilised the footage we recorded to create a rotoscoped animation video, which were displayed on the classroom board and viewed by our fellow classmates.

Together we filmed footage of each of us doing a simple action for example I filmed footage of Kevin opening a door. We then utilised the footage we recorded to create a rotoscoped animation video, which were displayed on the classroom board and viewed by our fellow classmates.
On this page I will demonstrate how I achieved my rotorscoped animation scene of Kevin walking through a door. I used the software Photoshop and my own recorded footage to create this production.
1. The first step I took was opening the Photoshop software and then opening the video of Kevin into the software.
2. The second step I took was editing the frame rate of the video to 12 frames per second, this would be so that an excess amount of frames would not be created for the project and also s that the animation still runs smooth.
3. The third step I took was opening up a new blank video layer, I opened the video layer uip so I would then have a se through layer to animate on top of which means that I would later be able to delete the video and have a smooth animation rendered.
4. The fourth step I took was selecting the tool I was going to use to draw on top of my video layer with, I chose the pain brush tool because I liked the aesthetic of the brushes effect. I also chose the colours I was going to use for my animation.
5. The fifth step in the production of my animation was painting over the blank video layer. I selected each frame of the animation using the timeline indicator and painted over each frame of the
animation.

-Painting over each frame
Overall the animation process was quite simple, after practising the painting of the frames, frame by frame, the process of production becomes much simpler. The tools I used created a nice aesthetic and the style of animation I used enhanced the simplistic and fun aesthetic. By the end of the production the video looked very nice and appealing.
